About Us

MACH 1 was established in 1976 as an activity centre for people with disability. A variety of services were offered including training in independent living skills. Since 1986 the organisation has defined its focus and concentrates on employment services for people with disability.

Aiming to provide positive, meaningful and sustainable employment options for people with disability, MACH 1 operates two separate services: Positive Production, an Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) and Employment Initiatives, a Disability Employment Service (DES).

Positive Production provides on-site supported employment for people with disability, undertaking a variety of process type contracts; Employment Initiatives supports people with disability to obtain and maintain employment in the open market.

MACH 1 provides flexible and responsive, individualised services to approximately 280 job seekers, workers and supported employees.
